GUIDE regarding the rules for visiting the Natural Park Grădiștea Muncelului-Cioclovina


In the area of the Natural Park Grădiștea Muncelului-Cioclovina, tourism activities are allowed, in compliance with the rules laid down in the NPGM-C Regulation, approved by Ministerial Order no. 3.255 of December 21, 2023 and other normative acts in force. Thus:

1) The access points to the park are: the localities of Costești, Măgureni, Boșorod, Pui, Ponor, Baru, Crivadia and the Streiului and Băniței valleys.
2) Visiting the park is only allowed on the roads open to public access and on the tourist trails marked with specific conventional signs, respecting any restrictions.
3) Tourists have the obligation to protect the wild flora and fauna existing on them, in order not to harm the environment and human health. In this respect they are prohibited:

• The uprooting or uprooting of wild flora species.

• Capturing or killing specimens of wild fauna without the necessary authorizations or by illegal means.

• Collecting specimens of wild flora or fauna without the authorization of the Park Administration.

• Disturbing nests and collecting eggs.

• Making noise that may disturb local people and wildlife.

4) Siting and operation of camping sites, opening of new tourist trails, erection of signposts and information boards shall be done only with the approval of Park Administration.
5) The camping of tourists on the territory of the park is allowed only in specially arranged and signposted sites.
6) Camping in places other than the specially arranged ones is allowed only in special situations, research, exploration, rescue, with the consent of the Park Administration.

The following are prohibited in camping sites:

• Digging trenches around tents or the use of any materials of plant origin, conifer branches, ferns, moss, under tents;

• Setting up fire pits other than those established by the campground manager;

• Procurement of firewood other than that provided by the campsite manager.

7) Tourists are required to collect waste they generate while visiting the park. Waste shall be disposed of outside the park in specially marked and designated collection areas.
8) The managers of the guesthouses, forest lodges and camping sites are responsible for the temporary storage of waste in compliance with the legal conditions, so that it is not accessible to dogs and wild animals.
9) It is forbidden to destroy or damage information boards and signposts, as well as plaques, pillars or markers on tourist routes.
10) It is strictly forbidden to degrade refuges, shelters, bridges, or any other construction or tourist facilities in the park.
11) It is forbidden to organize sports, cultural events, camps on the territory of the protected natural area without the consent of the Park Administration.
12) Unauthorized access by motorcycles, ATVs, motor sleds, cars or other types of motor vehicles is forbidden on the surface of the protected natural area, except on public roads, forest roads on which access is not prohibited by signs or barriers and on specially landscaped and signposted areas.
13) Bicycling and equestrian tourism activities are prohibited off specially designated and signed trails.
14) It is forbidden to damage historical monuments and ensembles or parts thereof. Interventions on monuments, historical and archaeological sites are carried out with the approval of the Park administration only with the authorization of the Ministry of Culture.
15) Photographing or filming for commercial purposes without authorization is forbidden in the park. Those interested may obtain a permit from the Park Administration upon payment of the approved fee.
